The UK's leading festival & event promoter Festival Republic is investing in the Electric Picnic Music & Arts Festival in what will be a fresh new chapter in the festival’s evolution. After five years the festival has become one of the most heralded around the world receiving critical acclaim from music fans and media alike. It is now a three day multi staged family event with some of the biggest names in music performing as well as featuring a large spoken word area, an arts & crafts field, a cookery stage and a designated family campsite and kids area.
Festival Republic, which is co-owned by Live Nation & Gaiety Investments, has a festival portfolio which includes the iconic Glastonbury as well as the Latitude festival and Reading & Leeds festivals in the UK. “I have been a friend of John Reynolds for a long, long time and have been a fan of the Electric Picnic Festival since its inception; it is Ireland’s version of Glastonbury as far as I am concerned and has been a great inspiration to Latitude too. I am very excited about partnering with John and his team to become part of it" said Melvin Benn, Managing Director of Festival Republic.
Part of this new deal sees the buying out of Aiken Promotion’s interest in the festival.
With regards to the new collaborators John Reynolds says: “I look forward to the new partnership with Melvin Benn and his team. Melvin and I have been friends for many years and I really look up to him as festival promoter.”
The Electric Picnic Music & Arts Festival will take place as usual in Stradbally on 4th, 5th & 6th of September. This year’s lineup will be announced mid March which is when tickets will also go on sale. For more information check
