We will be on-site at the park from the 25th of June – 18th of July.

SOUND CHECKS

Sound checks will take place on each of the event days prior to opening and also on Thursday 4th July and Thursday 10th July. Sound checks will not be at maximum event levels and although they may last a maximum of 90 minutes within a pre agreed 3 hour period, tests will be carried out in short intervals.

ACCESS

Outside of our main site, local park users will still have access to the rest of the park. All other park facilities will remain open and be available for use by the local community.

The carriageway between Endymion Road Gate and Finsbury Park Gate is used as the main production route for the events. Access may be limited to park users during this time. Please take caution.

The route between Hornsey Tavern Gate and Furtherfield Gallery will be closed the day prior to the live event days and re-open the day after. Should either of these routes require to be closed for safety reasons outside of these times, signs will be erected and security positioned to inform the public of the reasons why.

LOCAL BOROUGH RESTRICTIONS

This is achieved via a combination of existing emergency barriers in the local streets and staffed traffic management positions. Emergency barriers which prevent access are installed on the following streets: Finsbury Park Road / Brownswood Rd, Wilberforce Road / Brownswood Rd, Queens Drive / Somerfield Rd, Queens Drive / Gloucester Drive, Princess Crescent / Gloucester Drive, Portland Rise / Seven Sisters Rd, Alexandra Grove / Seven Sisters Road, Wilberforce Rd / Seven Sisters Road, Finsbury Park Rd / Seven Sisters Rd.

The area of Islington between Rock Street and Gillespie Road will be resident (and guests of residents) access only on live event days. This is achieved via a combination of existing LTNs in the local streets and staffed traffic management positions.

PARKING RESTRICTIONS

Parking restrictions will be in place to protect residents spaces. These restrictions will be discussed with the local boroughs and residents in advance and publicised here prior to the events in an easily digestable format.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

We anticipate that there will be minimal impact on public transport throughout the day due to phased arrivals although the stations may be slightly busier than normal. Finsbury Park Station and Manor House Station will be much busier on Friday and Saturdays between approx. 21:00 – 00:00. On Sundays we anticipate peak time to be 20:00 – 23:00. We would advise people allow more time when travelling at these times. All necessary provisions will be made to facilitate access for locals.

To aid the safe egress of guests, Station Place will be closed to buses and taxis from 21:00 on Friday and Saturday and 20:00 on Sunday. Bus diversions will be in place for all local routes and will be publicised here nearer the event.

If you are planning to get the tube during peak times we advise using the City North Entrance at Finsbury Park Station to avoid congestion and event footfall.

NOISE

We are working with one of the UK’s leading acoustic consultants, Vanguardia, who draft and monitor our noise management plan (NMP).

VIBRATIONS

Festival Republic have commissioned an independent Vibration Study for 2024, aiming to examine the link between crowd motion and building movement at properties around Finsbury Park with a longer term aim to potentially mitigate building movement. We aim to measure the motion directly under the crowd and simultaneously in surrounding buildings.

To understanding how a building will react to ground motion requires a profound understanding of the properties of the building, the soil and the crowd motion. This understanding should enable us to develop an analytical model of vibration within a building (and the surrounding ground), using software specifically designed for vibration in buildings and soil. This report is now available.

PYROTECHNICS

Strobe lighting – pyrotechnics, lasers, smoke machines, strobe lighting/special effects may take place during some performances.

SECURITY

There will be ample security directly outside the event and in the surrounding areas. You will see both a stationery and roaming presence on the roads immediately adjacent to the festival site. There will also be response teams available to respond to any calls made to the community hotline.
